Healthy Trail Mix

#1. Traditional trail mix can be filled with sugar and unhealthy fats. #2. "Healthy Trail Mix" can be expensive. #3. Unfortunately, I think trail mix is one of the best quick snacks to keep in your purse or to munch on at night. Solution = Make my own! You can make a healthy trail mix however you want, but use the steps below (what I used is posted at the bottom). 1. Nuts: Think healthy nuts like almonds, pistachios, walnuts, unsalted nuts... 2. Seeds 3. Fruit: Cranberries, blueberries, dried mangoes... 4. Sweet (optional): Dark chocolate, bittersweet chocolate chips (use very little) Amy's Mix: 1 bag Pistachios 1 bag unsalted, raw peanuts 1 3.5 oz bar of 80% dark chocolate (crushed) 1 bag of dried blueberries 1 bag of dried cranberries 1 small container of dark chocolate covered sunflower seeds (not the best for you, but not terrible) I got all of my stuff at Trader Joe's for around $15.....my usual is $10 a bag and this makes almost 3x the amount! Yay for extra money!
